** Please note that all fees are presented in Australian Dollars **
Worldview Centre for Intercultural Studies is an inter-denominational training facility of WEC International, with two major sources of income, student fees and donations from friends of Worldview. All staff and helpers are volunteers and do not draw from this income. The student fees cover about 70% of operating costs (i.e. capital expenditure is not included). All fees are due in the first week of the February and June semesters. Arrangements for fees to be paid fortnightly are negotiable after the first year.
* Fees cover meals (Monday to Friday), tuition, and rent of accommodation during term time. They do not cover the holiday periods (two weeks in June and September and eight weeks from early December to the end of January). *
All students and non-studying spouses are expected to participate in the community lifestyle, including the practical work (duties) involved in maintaining the centre. Doing practical duties not only helps keep costs down, but allows us to serve each other, to build relationships and to care for one another. There is no reduction for meals not taken in the dining room.
Fees are reviewed annually and may be changed from time to time.
Schedule
New Students New Students are required to pay the first year fees before arrival. Parents can arrange with the centre's Administrator to pay children's fees at regular intervals during the year. Fees can be paid for two or three years in advance at the current rate if paid within the first month of the year.
Continuing Students Continuing students are required to pay their full fees in the first week of a new semester. A suitable scheme of payment by regular installments (for example through an automatic bank transfer) is required for students who wish to pay by installments. This needs to be arranged with the centre's Administrator. Students are also required to clear all debts to Worldview prior to the commencement of a new year. Failure to do so may prevent the student from enrollment.
Spouses Spouses who spread a diploma over three years will be charged at the rate of the two years study plus one year at the non-studying spouse rate. As fees are subsidised, they will be expected to participate in practical work.
Third Year Students Third year students will receive a reduction in the final years fees to help them with their increased overseas assignment costs.
Ministry Students will need to make some additional financial provision for involvement in ministry experiences.
Refunds Tuition fees will not normally be refunded for any student who leaves during the year. New students will be given ten days grace from the start of their first semester to withdraw and apply for a refund. Continuing students will be given ten days grace from the start of each subsequent semester. Accommodation and food components for the semester commenced will not be refunded.
Meals Lunch and Dinner will be provided Monday to Friday during term time. Coffee, tea, sugar, bread and some spreads will be supplied for breakfast. Families are to provide their own school/play centre lunches for children.
Living off Campus Full time students who live off campus will pay $4,300 for tuition and facilities (Degree & Grad. Dip. $5,000). Fees include a mid-day meal, Worldview facilities and special events. They will be expected to do practical work on alternate Thursday afternoons. They will need to inform the centre of any change of address.
Vacations During the short vacations students must make arrangements with Worldview to stay in their units and will be charged for their stay. Over the summer break students are to vacate their units and are not expected to stay at the centre.
Graduation Students are required to pay all outstanding fees prior to graduation. If the student fails to do so, transcripts, references or awards will be withheld until such time as fees are paid. They will be permitted to take part in the celebration.
Medical Exemptions Should a student have a medical reason for not eating in community, a small discount on the food component may be given at the discretion of Worldview. Intending students should be careful to fill in the appropriate section on the application form concerning food allergies.
Consumer Protection Students have the right to take further action under Australia's consumer protection laws, in the event of a dispute over refunds or payment of fees. |
