Application Procedure

The Applicant should:

  • be a born again Christian
  • be a member of and have at least one year's service in a local church or fellowship
  • have the commendation of the local church
  • have evidence that he/she can undertake a course of intensive study and practical activity, i.e. the successful completion of a course of secular study or training, either trade or professional
  • have good physical fitness (a full medical examination is necessary)
  • be open to the Lord for service overseas
  • be at least nineteen years of age.

 

Admission

Candidates for the degree programme must satisfy one of the following criteria for entrance:

  • Australian students must have a TER score of over 50.
  • Mature age (over 21) applicants, who do not qualify academically, may be admitted to the course at the discretion of the Faculty. Recognition of prior learning, work and ministry experience will be taken into account. The first year of the Bachelor course will be seen as probationary for such applicants.
  • At the discretion of Worldview Faculty, an applicant may be asked to complete a Preparation Programme (incorporating Adult Learning, Study Skills and Assignment Writing Techniques) in order to qualify for entry to the degree programme.
  • Overseas applicants whose mother tongue is not English must meet academic language requirements of IELTS 6.0, in accord with the Australian Commonwealth Government. Please also view the Overseas Applicants page for general information.

All applicants are required to submit a current national police check with their application form. Australian applicants may obtain more information from www.afp.gov.au.

On receipt of the fully completed application, processing usually takes from six to eight weeks. Processing includes contacting referees for written statements and also an interview with Worldview, or WEC International representation closest to the applicant.

Accepted students are sent further instructions well in advance of the entry date. These give details of items that should be brought (i.e. clothing & equipment) and advice regarding travel arrangements.
