Timetable Structure
Worldview follows the Tasmanian school calendar so that parents are on holiday when their school aged children are on holiday.
The year is made up of 4 terms. Typically, universities and colleges teach units over a semester (half year). A full time study load is 16 credit points (4 units) per semester.
Worldview has structured its timetable to teach two units per term, over a 7 week block. There are two terms per semester so students still complete 4 units over the semester.
This term-based timetable enables students to concentrate on just two subjects at a time, rather than four, and lightens the pressure for the end of unit assessments. Part time students have the advantage of completing a whole unit over 7 weeks, rather than 12 weeks.
Non-award program
We recognise that the classroom is not the only place you learn. Worldview offers a well-rounded program to develop your spiritual life, interpersonal and ministry skills alongside the accredited courses taught through our partnership with MST.
Full time residential students will join a discipleship group called a huddle. We use an intentional discipleship model which will enliven your own spiritual walk, helping you to listen to and respond to God, and give you tools which you can use to disciple others.
Topics not covered in accredited units are taught in the additional one or two weeks of each term. These may include spiritual disciplines, sharpening one’s interpersonal skills, living victoriously, families and singles in ministry, missional business, practical skills, introduction to learning a language. Topics offered will vary each year.
Part time and non-residential students can negotiate the extent of their involvement in the non-award program with the Registrar.
